The local stately home was built on the proceeds of the slave trade in the Caribbean and the virtual slavery of the workers in the North Wales slate quarries, where you were paid in tokens you could only spend in the in-house shop. The rich retain their wealth, assets and position from this time of shameful exploitation, the gap from the poor widens, the imbalance and injustice remains, no reparations in sight
